  • CO₂ is pressurized, increasing its temperature.
  • High-pressure CO₂ flows through a gas cooler, heating water.
  • A high-pressure valve (HPV) lowers CO₂ pressure for the next stage.
  • CO₂ splits into liquid and vapour in the intermediate pressure receiver (IPR).
  • The vapour expands through a flash gas valve (FGV) and returns to the compressor.
  • Liquid CO₂ passes through an expansion valve, reducing pressure and temperature.
  • CO₂ absorbs heat from water in the evaporator, cooling it before the cycle repeats.
