Qualification:

Mr Tarun Sawhney graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree from Emmanuel College, University of Cambridge, UK, and an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, USA.

Key Achievements:

He is the Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Triveni Engineering and Industries Limited (TEIL). TEIL is amongst the largest fully integrated sugar and alcohol manufacturers in India and a market leader in its engineering businesses, comprising high-speed gears, gearboxes, naval defence solutions, and water treatment solutions.

He is a Director of Triveni Turbine Limited, one of the leading producers of industrial steam turbines up to 100 MWe globally.

He is the past President of Indian Sugar Mills Association (ISMA). He is a past Chairman of Indian Sugar Exim Corporation Limited (ISEC). He is a member of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), National Council and chairs the National Task Force on Sugar and Ethanol, and Bioenergy. He has been conferred the Industry Excellence Award for contributions to the sugar industry by the Hon. President of India, Smt. Pratibha Rao Patil.

​_He is a member of the Indian Public School’s Society (IPSS) and has been on the governing committee of the Oxford & Cambridge Society of India. He is also the current President of the Doon School Old Boy’s Society. He is presently a member of the International Advisory Council of the Tate Modern Museum (UK). Sawhney is also a trustee of the Tirath Ram Shah Hospital in New Delhi, which is one of India’s oldest charitable hospitals.
