Carbon Black
Carbon black is produced with the thermal decomposition method or the partial combustion method using hydrocarbons such as oil or natural gas as raw material. Carbon black produced with the furnace process, which is the most commonly used method now, is called “furnace black,” distinguishing it from carbon black, manufactured with other processes. The Carbon Black production process generates waste gas as a by-product & utilises this energy to generate electricity & steam for its captive requirement. The captive cogeneration project in the Carbon black industry meets the power & steam requirements of the plant. Otherwise, if generated from the fossil fuel (natural gas) fired cogeneration plant at the site would mean fuel combustion in the boiler resulting in the emission of CO2 Gas (GHG).
Carbon black industries need steam turbines for drive applications and power generation. Steam turbo-generators power the fan in the carbon black-producing furnace. We are the leading supplier of steam turbines for global carbon black manufacturers and are renowned for our efficiency. We help power several carbon black processing units in India, Brazil, Italy, Indonesia and the Netherlands.
